Italian bishop gravely injured in fall during mountain pilgrimage

An Italian bishop suffered multiple severe injuries when he fell from a ledge during a nighttime pilgrimage.
Bishop Domenico Sigalini of Palestrina was leading a visit to the shrine of the Holy Trinity in Vallepietra—located high on Mount Autore, east of Rome--when he tumbled into a ravine. He was taken to the Gemelli hospital in Rome, where his condition was reported as critical.
