Abortionist working at Catholic hospital says mother decides baby's personhood

July 25, 2011

Pro-life activists in Colorado are calling upon a Catholic hospital to remove from its staff a doctor who also works at a Planned Parenthood abortion clinic.

Dr. Richard Grossman explains his willingness to perform abortions with a uniquely non-scientific explanation of the status of an unborn child: “When a woman says a fetus is a person, I think it is one.”

Dr. Grossman is not allowed to perform abortion-related services in his work at Mercy Medical Center. Hospital administrators say that they are unable to dismiss him because of federal laws that bar hospitals from interfering with doctors’ work in their own private practices.
