July 13, 2011

A vacationing Catholic priest was shot and killed in Mississippi last weekend. Police have arrested a suspect, and say that the crime was motivated by robbery.

The body of Father Edwar Everitt was found by a caretaker at a retreat house he shared with other priests on the Mississippi coast. Police have arrested Jeremy Wayne Manieri, who was described as “a registered sex offender with a long criminal record.”
