New study debunks figures on early sexual activity by adolescents

Proponents of classroom sex education regularly cite statistics that purport to show that many adolescents are already sexually active. A report by Carlos Polo for the Population Research Institute shows that the statistics are seriously flawed, since they include only those young people who have had sexual activity—ignoring the large numbers who remain virgins.
