Church now leads the way against abuse: Cardinal Wuerl

In an op-ed column for the Washington Post, Cardinal Donald Wuerl of Washington makes the provocative argument that the Catholic Church is ready to show the way in a drive to end child abuse in society:

    The John Jay 'study' is a farce and a brazen whitewash.

    Hope springs eternal. I think it is safe to say we all hope and pray that the good Cardinal will soon be correct. But he is not correct today. Unfortunately, until the real cause is actually explored, and not glossed over in a PC whitewash, that hope is rather dim.
