Term
SYNDIC, APOSTOLIC
Definition
A lay person or procurator who administers the property used by the Friars Minor and Capuchins and owned by the Holy See. Modern social living required the Holy See to constitute itself owner in trust of property, gifts, bequests, etc., accruing to the friars or other groups forbidden by their vows to own property in common. Every friary has a syndic who is in charge and administers such goods.
