eNewsletter Subject: Temperatures Rising?

If I've had to go out once today, I've had to go out a thousand times. During these errands, the outside temperature has varied between 13 and 24 degrees Fahrenheit (-11 and -4 Celsius).

I know this doesn't seem very cold to some of our northern readers, but I've lived to tell you that my Virginia windbreaker and baseball cap don't cut it!

Warmth is on its way, however. By Saturday we're expecting temperatures around 30 (-1)—and up to 40" (that's 102 centimeters) of fresh snow!

Temperatures and storms may also be rising in American politics, as readers begin to reassess their political options in an election year. There were many comments on last week's essay on the futility of our politics; the topic has generated a great deal of interest....
