I hate to lead with distressing news, but CatholicCulture.org's efforts to keep up the good fight are sputtering. I need to ask everyone to read my latest commentary: If you hope to see us in 2016, please act now.

We have explored some large issues this week, however. For example, Thomas Van examines the history of the Church's attitude toward evolution. See his excellent review, which clarifies some significant magisterial questions along the way: Catholicism and Evolution: not so compatible after all?

In a similar intellectual vein, I probe into contemporary attitudes which hold science to be objective, and everything else mere subjective opinion. But not so fast. See: Our mental prison: The myth of “objective” knowledge.
