Phil Lawler, after considerable reflection, has posted his final assessment of Pope Francis' apostolic visit to the United States. There is plenty of food for thought in: Making sense of the Pope's message to America-- including the Kim Davis meeting.

But even as we reflect on the past, we need to look forward. The Synod on the Family begins in just two days. Phil also asks for Prayers for the Synod Fathers. There's an "adopt a Synod Father" initiative which should attract our support.

For those who have been frustrated by the new difficulties of handling health insurance needs under Obamacare, Phil has a special essay for you as well: Coming of (old) age under Obamacare: a rant.
