Since today is the feast of the Nativity of Mary, and today Pope Francis also issued documents which streamline the annulment process, one naturally thinks of Mary and marriage together.

It is not a stretch to do so. Consider Mary's problematic betrothal to Joseph, her acceptance of Gabriel's message at the Annunciation, her chaste relationship with Joseph throughout their marriage, and yet her insistence that Our Lord inaugurate his public ministry with a miracle celebrating marriage.
