What we have come to call “Catholic” news is fascinating this week, touching so many things. For example:

But, oh, let's take just one more. The prominent dissident (yes, heretical) Sister Margaret Farley has publicly announced that Pope Francis seems teachable. But the Catholic question is whether Sister Farley is teachable, especially by the Magisterium of the Church.

All of which goes to show that there is a vast difference between our own efforts to change the world and the Master's work. Today I reflect on that difference in On the Culture, not least as it relates to myself: There’s our work and then there’s Christ’s: Spinning Straw into Gold.
