Father John Jenkins, the president of the University of Notre Dame, has appointed a recent graduate, Mary Daly, to the newly-created position of coordinator for university life initiatives. While a student, Daly was a leading opponent of the university’s decision to award President Barack Obama an honorary degree.
“We all must learn to disagree respectfully when necessary, yet work together on issues of profound importance,” said Father Jenkins. “Mary and I share a deep commitment to the sanctity of life.”

So Father Jenkins shares a deep commitment with Daly over the sanctity of human life. Is that why Father Jenkins invited the most pro-abortion President in the history of these United States to speak at a Catholic university? Is that why he allowed the police to arrest pro-lifers who were defending the dignity of the unborn? What's next, his appointment as a bishop for undermining Catholic teaching?

Just lovely, ND "good news"[?] as the “Notre Dame 88” trial is delayed so TMLC motions to dismiss can be heard. Really [?], go to trial for praying the Rosary on “Our Lady’s” campus in protest. [The charge is actually trespassing.] Those of us with real connections and long history of support for the place, cannot but marvel [and mourn] for what might have been for the once premiere “catholic” College in America and, please note, Fr. John I. Jenkins,C.S.C. - modify our Last Will and Testament.

Window dressing. But, better than nothing. I amazed that I should have to feel grateful that Notre Dame appointed someone who was actually, you know, pro life to that post. That is a sad state of affairs. it's clear Jenkins main talent is squelching dissent within his kingdom.
