Catholic lay group criticizes Boston College tribute to Father Drinan

CWN - March 09, 2011

The Catholic Action League of Massachusetts has criticized Boston College Law School for sponsoring a tribute to the late Father Robert Drinan, the Jesuit priest who served as a Congressman and voted in favor of legal abortion.

The BC Law School hosted a March 8 panel discussion on the influence of Father Drinan, with speakers including Father Raymond Schroth, the author of a biography of the late priest-politician; and Rep. Barney Frank, his successor in Congress. In light of Father Drinan’s support for public funding of abortion, the Catholic Action League charged that the programs was “one more example of BC’s thumb-in-the-eye approach to Catholic orthodoxy.”

How appropriate. Rep. Barney Frank speaking at a tribute to the late Father Robert Drinan, a pro-abortion Jesuit priest, at Boston College, a university "in the Jesuit tradition". You can't make this stuff up!
