New violence between Muslims, Copts in Cairo
March 09, 2011
At least 6 people were killed and dozens injured when violence erupted during a demonstration by Coptic Christians in Cairo.
The army intervened after Muslims attacked Copts who were demonstrating near Tahrir square, calling on the government to rebuild a church that had been torched in an earlier burst of anti-Christian violence. Most-- if not all-- of the casualties in the latest clash were Christians.
