Abortion is safer than childbirth, British ob/gyn body claims

The Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists is recommending that pregnant women be told that abortion is safer than bringing a pregnancy to term.
In a draft of guidance to be given to women contemplating abortion, the Royal College cites statistics for maternal deaths and injuries arising from complications of childbirth. The statistics do not take into account the psychological difficulties experienced by women suffering from the post-abortion syndrome.
