Sydney archdiocese sees increase in priestly vocations after World Youth Day

The Archdiocese of Sydney, Australia, is reporting a rise in the number of men entering preparation for the priesthood.
The Sydney archdiocese may be reaping the benefit of two factors that have frequently produced a surge in priestly vocations: the leadership of a strongly orthodox prelate (Cardinal George Pell) and the excitement generated by World Youth Day, which was held in Sydney in July 2008.
