CWN - February 24, 2011
The Vatican has released the schedule for a June visit by Pope Benedict XVI to San Marino.
The one-day trip will take place on Sunday, June 19. The Pontiff will leave Rome early in the morning, traveling by helicopter to reach the Republic of San Marino. He will celebrate Mass at 10 in a stadium at Serravalle.
After lunch with organizers of the trip, the Pope will make an official visit on San Marino’s leaders, Captains Regent Giovanni Francesco Ugolini and Andrea Zafferani. In the afternoon he will address political and diplomatic officials, then visit the basilica of San Marino.
The Pope will then continue by helicopter in the evening, to the Italian city of Pennabili, for a meeting with young people of the diocese, before returning to Rome.
