CWN - January 31, 2011
Pope Benedict XVI has sent a videotaped message of congratulations to the students, faculty, and staff of the Pontifical University of Santo Tomas in Manila, which is celebrating its 400th anniversary.
The papal message, delivered in English, salutes “the oldest institution of Catholic higher education in the Far East.” The Holy Father notes the contributions that the school has made to learning for generations, and voices his confidence that “your university will continue to contribute to the intellectual, spiritual and cultural enrichment of the Philippines and beyond.”
