Abandon 'Saint of Death' cult, Mexican archdiocese urges
CWN - January 10, 2011
The Mexico City archdiocese is urging people to abandon the “Saint of Death” cult, following the January 6 arrest of the cult’s leader on kidnapping charges.
Msgr. Hugo Valdemar, the public spokesman for the archdiocese, observed that the cult has become “the favorite devotion of organized crime, drug cartels, and kidnappers.” He also observed that the cult is “superstitious and has diabolical connotations,” and cannot be reconciled with the Catholic faith.
