China again lashes out at Vatican

Echoing comments made earlier this week by China’s State Administration for Religious Affairs, the layman who serves as honorary chairman of the Chinese Catholic Patriotic Association lashed out at the Vatican on December 24.
Liu Bainian charged that by objecting to a recent assembly of Chinese bishops-- some of whom are not recognized by the Holy See, and some of whom were forced to attend under duress-- the Vatican was trying to turn China into a colony.
