Israeli mayor bars Christmas trees from suburb of Nazareth
CWN - December 23, 2010
The mayor of Nazareth Illit (Upper Nazareth), a suburb of the city where Jesus was raised, has refused to allow Christmas trees in the town’s Arab distict.
“Nazareth Illit is a Jewish city,” declared Mayor Shimon Gapso. He characterized the request to put up Christmas trees in the town squares as “provocative.”
