Priest at focus of child-abuse documentary is re-arrested on child-porn charges

CWN - December 13, 2010

Oliver O’Grady, the former priest whose serial molesting of children became the subject of a prize-winning documentary film, has been arrested in Dublin on child-pornography charges.

The Irish-born O’Grady served in several parishes in northern California in the 1970s and 1980s. He was imprisoned in California for 7 years after pleading guilty to several sex-abuse charges, and deported to Ireland in 2001.

O’Grady is the subject of Deliver Us from Evil, a film that won an Oscar nomination in the Documentary category in 2006.
