Pope to visit Germany in 2011
CWN - November 19, 2010
Pope Benedict XVI will visit Germany late next year, Church officials in that country have disclosed.
The Pope will be making his first official visit to his native country since his election in 2005. Earlier visits—to Cologne for World Youth Day in 2005 and to Bavaria in 2006—did not have the character of official state visits. In 2011 he will be responding to the formal invitation extended by German President Christian Wulff.
