Schedule set for consistory, 'courtesy visits' with new cardinals
CWN - November 16, 2010
The Vatican’s liturgical office has confirmed the schedule for a consistory on November 20 at which Pope Benedict will elevate 24 new members to the College of Cardinals.
After the Saturday-morning ceremony in St. Peter’s basilica, the new cardinals will hold receptions in the afternoon, allowing for the traditional “courtesy visits” with family, friends, and other Church leaders. For these receptions the Vatican has assigned each of the new cardinals a space in the Paul VI auditorium or the apostolic palace.
On Sunday, November 21, the new cardinals will concelebrate Mass with the Holy Father in the Vatican basilica and receive their rings.
