Amazon, under protest, pulls book on pedophilia
November 11, 2010
Amazon, the giant internet bookseller, has stopped offering a book for pedophiles that sparked public outrage.
Amazon had been carrying The Pedophile’s Guide to Love and Pleasure, a self-published book by Phillip Greaves, as a downloadable option for consumers with the Kindle electronic reader.
Amazon had initially defended selling the book, explaining that the company “believes believes it is censorship not to sell certain books simply because we or others believe their message is objectionable." But as protests mounted, the book was removed from the online seller’s offerings.
