New York archdiocese eyes 15 schools for possible closing
November 10, 2010
The New York archdiocese is weighing a proposed consolidation of the parochial-school system in which 15 schools in the city would be closed. The proposal would affect 4,500 students.
The archdiocese will ask for comments from pastors and administrators at the schools that have been designated “at risk” before making their final recommendations.
