Priest shot, killed in Congo
CWN - November 09, 2010
A parish priest was shot and killed in the eastern section of the Democratic Republic of Congo on November 8.
Father Christian Bakulene was returning to his parish in Kanyabayonga when he was confronted by two uniformed men who shot and killed him. A friend who was accompanying the priest was unharmed, and the assailants took no money, leading Church officials to believe that the murder was intended to intimidate other priests in the region.
