US bishops offer resources for worldwide prayer vigil for unborn

November 01, 2010

The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) has published resources to help parishes participate in the worldwide vigil for all nascent human life, which will take place on Saturday evening, November 27. Pope Benedict will lead the prayer vigil at St. Peter’s Basilica in Rome.

“Nascent human life is under attack in a myriad of ways,” said Deirdre McQuade of the USCCB Secretariat of Pro-Life Activities. “In the United States alone, over 50 million unborn children have lost their lives to abortion since Roe v. Wade … embryonic stem cell research kills human beings at their earliest stages in the name of science. Reproductive technologies destroy or indefinitely freeze many more lives than are ever born.”

The USCCB resources include options for Vespers, Benediction, the Rosary, and a Marian procession.
