New York gubernatorial candidates spar on gay rights

CWN - October 11, 2010

A candidate’s reference to “dysfunctional homosexuals” sparked an angry exchange between the two leading candidates to be the next Governor of New York.

Republican Carl Paladino criticized his Democratic opponent, Andrew Cuomo, for marching in New York’s “gay pride” parade, and said that children should not be “brainwashed” into accepting homosexuality as a normal lifestyle. Cuomo fired back by accusing Paladino of “homophobic” remarks. Both candidates identify themselves as Catholics. “Carl Paladino is simply expressing the views that he holds in his heart as a Catholic,” a spokesman for the Republican candidate said. “Carl Paladino is not homophobic, and neither is the Catholic Church.” He added: “The majority of New Yorkers agree with him.”

Paladino is a Catholic man...and I mean man. He defended his 10 year old "love child" from NY Post photographers. That he loves her, acknowledges her, and protects her, is wonderful. I don't doubt that many politicians just give money to their mistresses and tell them to get an abortion and move on.

I like this guy! I wish Massachusetts could nominate a conversative Republican (or Democrat for that matter) who is not intimidated by the pink fascists in the homosexual movement. Paladino is a breath of fresh air if for no other reason that he speaks the truth informed by his Catholic faith, and he does it against a faux Catholic like Cuomo.

Finally a gubernatorial candidate for my state that will get the job done! Pro-life, pro-family, pro-business! Paladino has made many political enemies, to be sure, but it must be granted that he says what he means and means what he says.
