C-FAM warns: UN youth document’s influence could spread
CWN - October 06, 2010
The Catholic Family & Human Rights Institute (C-FAM) is warning that a document produced at the UN’s World Youth Conference, held in August in León, Mexico, could influence UN action at the international level.
The NGO Youth Statement calls for “universal access to confidential, youth-friendly sexual and reproductive health services, including access to evidence-based comprehensive sexuality education, in formal and non-formal settings,” “a full range of contraceptives and safe abortion,” and the recognition of “LGBT [lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender] as part of the spectrum of gender identities.”
