New superior for Oblates is American priest

The Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate have chosen an American priest, Father Louis Lougen, as their superior general.
Meeting in Rome this week for their 39th general chapter, the delegates of the Oblate order elected Father Lougen to replace Father Wilhelm Steckling as their leader. The Oblates boast more than 4,000 members, working in 67 countries around the world.
