Vatican confirms program for Pope's November trip to Spain

The Vatican has released the schedule for a visit by Pope Benedict XVI to Spain on November 6 and 7.

The Holy Father will fly from Rome on Saturday morning, November 6, arriving at Santiago de Compostela. He will visit the cathedral, have lunch with a group of Spanish bishops, and then celebrate Mass in the afternoon for the Compostela Holy Year.

Leaving Compostela on Saturday evening, the Pontiff will fly to Barcelona. On Sunday morning he will meet with the King and Queen of Spain, then preside at Mass to consecrate the Sagrada Familia cathedral. The Pope will return to Rome on Sunday evening.
