Missouri diocese to drop CCHD funding for community organizers
September 03, 2010
The Diocese of Kansas City, Missouri, has announced plans to stop providing funding for community-organizing groups through the Catholic Campaign for Human Development (CCHD). Noting that widespread criticism of the CCHD has revolved around grants to activist organizations that “began to develop a partisan edge to their work” and become involved in causes inimical to the Catholic faith, a diocesan official announced plans to "cease funding all community organizing projects in our diocese and not to grant such requests in the future.”

This is a wise move. There are so many worthy causes doing our Lord's work deserving of CCHD dollars.
