Father Euteneuer leaves HLI, returns to parish work

CWN - August 27, 2010

Father Thomas Euteneuer has resigned from his post as president of Human Life International (HLI) to return to pastoral work in the Palm Beach diocese.

Father Euteneuer was appointed president of HLI in 2000, taking over the international pro-life organization founded by Father Paul Marx. For the past decade he has been a leading voice of the American pro-life movement, while logging over 1 million miles in travel to help spur pro-life activity in other countries.

Msgr. Ignacio Barreiro Carambula, who has headed the HLI office in Rome, has been appointed the interim leader of the Virginia-based group, to serve until a permanent replacement for Father Euteneuer is named.
