Feast of Cardinal Newman will be October 9
CWN - August 26, 2010
When he proclaims the beatification of Cardinal John Henry Newman, Pope Benedict XVI will fix the feast day of the great English convert and scholar on October 9.
The Vatican will not formally announce the new feast day until September 19, the date of the beatification ceremonies. But a booklet prepared in advance of the papal visit contains the text of the beatification decree, which includes the proclamation of the feast.
