Caritas renews appeal for flood-ravaged Pakistan

Caritas, the international consortium of Catholic relief and development agencies, has issued a $5.5-million appeal to assist the people of Pakistan, which is suffering from its worst floods in eight decades. An estimated 14 million Pakstanis have been affected by the floods as roads and bridges wash away, and 1,600 have died.
