Ten years ago, Father Marc Ouellet was a priest, a seminary rector and theology instructor. This week Cardinal Ouellet was named prefect of the powerful Congregation for Bishops. Writing in Canada’s National Post Father Raymond J. de Souza reflects on the remarkably fast ascent up the ecclesiastical ladder by the prelate from Quebec—and his prospects as a potential candidate for the papacy.

    I was pleased with his recent leadership in standing up for the sanctity of life. He is a good example to other bishops and to the laity.
