Pope Benedict XVI met on Saturday, June 26, with representatives of the Circolo di San Pietro, which each year presents the Pontiff with the receipts from the Peter’s Pence collection in the Rome diocese.
In his address to the group, the Pope thanked the members for their support, saying that the annual collection allows the Pope to make contributions to needy causes, and thus is a “concrete sign of the Pope’s charity toward those in need.”
