June 21, 2010
An 85-year-old Italian ex-priest who founded a network of drug-abuse rehabilitation centers stands accused of abusing 12 young men. The trial of Pierino Gelmini, 85, will begin in March 2011. Reuters reports that Gelmini, who denies the allegations, voluntarily obtained his laicization in 2008 so as to defend himself more easily.
