Australian priest to stand trial on 17 abuse counts
CWN - June 18, 2010
Father David Anthony O’Hearn of the Diocese of Maitland-Newcastle has been charged with 17 counts of abuse committed against five boys. In the brief of evidence submitted on Father O’Hearn’s behalf, the pastor of the parish where Father O’Hearn served claims that he “didn't hear anything about him or another assistant priest in relation to children.” That pastor, Vincent Ryan, is serving a prison sentence for abusing over two dozen boys.
