Archeologist claims Mount Sinai is in Israel

Catholic World News - May 31, 2010

An Israeli archeologist has concluded that the "real" Mount Sinai described in the Old Testament is located in Israel, in the Negev desert, rather than on Egypt's Sinai peninsula. Emmanuel Anati insists that his conclusions are certain. However, the Jerusalem Post headline, stating that the Vatican will endorse those conclusions, overstates the case. Vatican experts have expressed great interest in Anati's research, but have not embraced his conclusion.
