Maronite Catholics of Cyprus look for strength from papal visit
CWN - May 24, 2010
Looking forward to Pope Benedict's visit to Cyprus, an Associated Press story profiles the small Maronite Catholic community on the predominantly northern side of the island. (The AP story might leave some readers with the mistaken impression that the Cypriot Maronites are the world's last representative of that ancient Church. In fact there are well over 3 million Maronites worldwide, with the greatest concentration in Lebanon, but large communities in South America, the US, and Australia as well.)
