Congo's leader visits Vatican

Pope Benedict XVI met on May 24 with President Denis Sassou N'guesso of the Republic of Congo. Their talks centered on that country's preparations for celebrating its 50th year of independence, and the situation facing poor people there, particularly refugees from the region's many civil wars.
