Italian journalist sees pressure on Cardinal Sodano

Vatican-watcher Sandro Magister of L'Espresso observes three different approaches to the sex-abuse scandal. While Pope Benedict looks to eliminate the spiritual corruption that has been exposed, some cardinals-- notably Cardinals Schönborn of Vienna and O'Malley of Boston-- have questioned Vatican administrators, and particularly the former Secretary of State, Cardinal Angelo Sodano. Meanwhile the Jesuit journal Civilta Cattolica has cast a critical eye on psychologists who advised bishops about handling abusive priests.
