British prosecutors drop charges against preacher who condemned homosexuality

British prosecutors have dropped charges against Evangelical "street preacher" who was arrested in April for making public statements against homosexuality. The preacher, Dale McAlpine, had been charged with making statements that were likely to encourage contempt for homosexuals. But a leading gay-rights crusader, Peter Tatchell, had announced that he would testify in favor of McAlpine, citing his right to free speech.
