Cardinal Pell dismisses speculation on curial appointment

Cardinal George Pell of Sydney, Australian, has sidestepped a question about reports that he will soon be named prefect of the Vatican's powerful Congregation for Bishops.
But Cardinal Pell did dismiss a report that he had already been nominated for the post. "Who knows about those Italian reports?" the Australian prelate told a reporter. "They are either misinformed or better informed than I am."
