Prayerful Peruvian Catholics defend Church against criticism
Catholic World News - April 29, 2010
Faithful Catholics gathered outside the office of the apostolic nuncio in Lima, Peru, to pray the Rosary on April 28. The prayerful vigil was designed to support the Church-- and particularly Cardinal Tarcisio Bertone-- in the face of public criticism. Cardinal Bertone, the Vatican Secretary of state, provoked a firestorm of protest during a recent visit to Peru when he said that the sex-abuse crisis is linked to homosexual influence in the priesthood.
