Prayerful Peruvian Catholics defend Church against criticism
Catholic World News - April 29, 2010

The prayerful vigil was designed to support the Church-- and particularly Cardinal Tarcisio Bertone-- in the face of public criticism. Cardinal Bertone, the Vatican Secretary of state, provoked a firestorm of protest during a recent visit to Peru when he said that the sex-abuse crisis is linked to homosexual influence in the priesthood.
