Irish poll shows heavy support for abortion ban

A new opinion poll shows that 70% of Ireland's population supports the existing law that prohibits abortion. Only 13% of those questioned called for a change in the law.
The poll, commissioned by the Pro-Life Campaign, made a point of reminding respondents that current law allows medical intervention when necessary to save the mother's life-- a distinction that other polls have failed to make.
