Maternal deaths shown lower than UN groups claimed in calls for legal abortion

A new study published by the British medical journal Lancet shows a decline in maternal mortality. The study shows that UN officials seriously overestimated maternal deaths in documents pressing for legalization of abortion in some countries. The editor of Lancet has disclosed that "advocacy groups" pressured him to delay publication of the study.
