Be transformed by the joy of the Resurrection, Pope tells faithful
CWN - April 07, 2010
Christians should always testify to the reality of Christ's Resurrection, Pope Benedict XVI said at his regular weekly public audience on April 7. The faithful are effective witnesses, he said, when "allow the prodigy of Christ's love to transform us." The joy of the Resurrection should be evident in all believers, he said.
The Pope-- who traveled from his summer residence at Castel Gandolfo to hold his Wednesday audience at the Vatican-- reminded the 21,000 people in St. Peter's Square that this year the Catholic and Orthodox churches celebrated Easter on the same day. Urging the faithful to continue the celebration through the 50 days of Eastertide, he remarked that the shared celebration should spark "more intense collaboration in truth and in charity" between Eastern and Western Christianity.
